Here’s the 2010 graduation invitation design for the Rise School of Austin. Using the school’s sun logo as a source of inspiration, we came up with a sky & clouds concept for the invite. We thought the theme “The sky’s the limit” would be a nice fit with the visuals.

In addition to the invite, we also worked on the graduation program design. The program is essentially a combination of the front and back of the invite with two exceptions. We used a different photo (the kids are throwing their graduation caps) and we removed the background around the kids which actually gives the design a cleaner look.

Congrats to the graduates: Carter, Eva, Michael, Molly, Witt, Elijah and Hannah!

Here’s the holiday card that we designed for the Rise School. The only mandatory was to use an existing school photo. We decided to keep things simple and just complement the photo with the holiday lights and the penguin.

This is a invitation design for the Rise School of Austin’s annual donor luncheon. Every year the parents at the school put together a thank you lunch for people who have donated to the school.

We wanted to give the invitation a fall color palette, so we used a brown and orange combination. We also added a little chef’s hat to the school’s sun logo to play off the lunch theme.

Just finished a really fun project. Our client, Jackie, wanted to design a party invitation for her parents’ 39th wedding anniversary. She sent some great wedding photos of her parents that we used in the design. She also had a specific request: she had seen some of our penguin doodles and wanted to incorporate them into the design if it was possible. Hey, we’re all for more penguin doodles!

Here’s the final design:

In case you haven’t seen them yet, here are our two newest t-shirt designs. Watching the U.S. Open tennis tournament inspired the Sporty Lion design (a little shout out to John McEnroe and his awesome red headband.) And originally we were planning on designing a Hula Panda, but we weren’t really happy with our panda doodles so we went with a hippo instead. Unfortunately, we may be panda-doodle challenged.

We thought it might be fun to share the original sketch of our newest t-shirt design. (Forgot about the tail in the initial sketch.)

We’ve finished upgrading the Custom Doodles section! Now you can have your very own j.j. elliot doodle printed on either a high quality print or a nifty t-shirt. (Infant onesies, children, women & men’s t-shirts are available.)

Currently, we’re busy working on the new Custom Orders section and hope to have that completed in the next week or so.

We just added a new t-shirt design. After getting a little inspiration from our recent trip to Legoland in San Diego, we thought we’d try to create a pirate doodle. (One of the sections at the park had a fun pirate-themed area.) Here’s the original black and white doodle and the finished colored version of our pirate penguin:

We just finished designing a graduation invitation for The Rise School of Austin. For those of you who may not be familiar with the school, Rise is a unique preschool that offers an early childhood program for children with developmental delays. Various types of therapy disciplines (speech, physical, occupational and music therapy) are integrated into their curriculum. The school is really quite remarkable; the main reason is that they have an incredible group of teachers and therapists working at the school. Originally founded in Alabama, Rise currently has schools in seven cities.

For more info about Rise, please click here: http://riseschool.org/austin/

There were only three mandatories given for the invite design: we were asked to include the class photo, include the school logo (sun doodle) with the Rise School text and keep the size of invite to 6.25″ x 4.5″.

The key visual for the invite is the doodle of the baby chick with the graduation cap. We put the baby chick on both sides of the card as a unifying design element. We also kept the pinstripes background on both sides of the card to help tie things together.
